Kyrgyzstan’s hospitals lack 5,000 doctors. Deputy Minister of Health Kaarmanbek Baidavletov informed the deputies of Parliament about this.

The official told how local authorities are solving the problem. According to him, the Ministry of Health is negotiating with the presidential envoys to the regions. In some areas, local authorities are taking on the cost of utilities in order to help the young specialists.

Kaarmanbek Baidavletov noted that, according to the standards, there should be one doctor per 1,500 people. However, there is a shortage of personnel not only in the regions and remote areas, but also in central hospitals.
