The Novosibirsk Regional Court considered the appeals of the lawyers of the cleaner from Kyrgyzstan Ainagul Borbueva against the sentence of the Oktyabrsky District Court of October 27, 2022. The Russian media reported, citing the press service of the regional Judicial Department.

The 44-year-old cleaner from Kyrgyzstan was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in Novosibirsk for stealing a bag with 7 million rubles. According to investigators, early in the morning of November 4, 2021, near house No. 1 on Dobrolyubov Street, Ainagul Borbueva noticed a bag with money inside on the sidewalk and picked it up, after which she fled the scene of the crime.

The woman claims that there was no money in the bag. However, the court still found her guilty and sentenced her to 2 years and 6 months in a general regime colony. In June 2023, the Novosibirsk Regional Court upheld the appeal of lawyer of Ainagul Borbueva, changed the verdict of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Novosibirsk dated October 27, 2022, and released the citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic from the courtroom.

On October 25, the Novosibirsk Regional Court overturned the verdict of the Oktyabrsky Court and terminated the criminal prosecution of the woman. Her right to rehabilitation was recognized.
