Judge of the Leninsky District Court of Bishkek Nurlan Kenzhebaev was found guilty of taking a bribe and fined 1 million soms. The press service of the Pervomaisky District Court informed 24.kg news agency.

At the same time, the judge was acquitted under the article «Extortion on a large scale» due to the absence of corpus delicti in his actions.

Nurlan Kenzhebaev was found guilty under Article 342 «Taking a bribe» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and sentenced to a fine of 2 million soms to the state. However, given the long period of detention, the judge’s sentence was mitigated and he was finally sentenced to a fine of 1 million soms.

The Bishkek City Court upheld the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court.

The Council of Judges of Kyrgyzstan sent the president a proposal to early terminate the powers of the judge of the Leninsky District Court of Bishkek Nurlan Kenzhebaev. The decision was made in connection with the entry into force of the guilty verdict.

Nurlan Kenzhebaev was arrested last year for extortion and taking $2,000. According to the investigation, he asked for money for a positive decision on the criminal case under consideration.
