Rapper from Kyrgyzstan convicted of inciting ethnic hatred

A rapper from Kyrgyzstan was convicted of inciting ethnic hatred. According to the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow, Islam Zakirov was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for one year and eight months in a general regime penal colony.

18-year-old Islam Zakirov lived in Krasnoyarsk Krai. He is known as the rapper Recidiv. He was found guilty of committing a crime under the criminal article on public actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of the dignity of a group of persons on the basis of gender, nationality.

Investigators established that Islam Zakirov performed in a bar and voiced «a statement containing calls for violent actions and a negative assessment of Russians.»

It is known that ultra-right publics paid attention to the battle and complained, demanding to open a case.
