The VI International Film Forum for Women Directors of Kyrgyzstan, dedicated to the director and actress Klara Yusupzhanova, will be held in Bishkek.
At least 17 women — film directors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will attend the event. They will also present their films to the audience.
Master classes, round tables and discussions are also planned.
The forum is held to gather women directors on one platform, exchange opinions, discuss current problems of society and ways to solve them.
The author and director of the film forum is Asel Zhuraeva. The film forum has been held by the Creative Women of Asia Foundation since 2016. The V anniversary film forum was held last year in Osh city.
Klara Yusupzhanova is a Soviet Kyrgyz actress, film director. She is an Honored Cultural Figure of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The very first role that Klara Yusupzhanova played in a movie made the name of the young actress famous. Her debut took place in 1963 in «Znoy» (Swelter) film. Klara, who was then nineteen years old, played a thirty-year-old woman.
