Holding of wasteful feasts and funeral banquets in Bishkek banned

Banquet halls, cafes and restaurants in Sverdlovsky district of Bishkek have been banned from holding wasteful fests and funeral banquets. The press service of the capital’s City Hall reported.

The municipality noted that a meeting was held with the participation of the head of Sverdlovsky district police department Ulanbek Aaliev, the imam-khatib of the district, heads of the local territorial departments, representatives of Diyar, Farizat, Mansur, Versailles cafes and other large cafes, banquet halls in the district.

«Implementation of the Presidential Decree «On measures to regulate family celebrations and funeral customs in the Kyrgyz Republic» and «On burial and funeral business» was discussed, as well as the refusal of services to citizens who are planning wasteful family events, religious ceremonies, funeral rites. The documents also indicate strict regulation of traditions, celebrations and rituals, the formation and stabilization of the foundations of the spiritual and moral culture of Kyrgyz society, and ensuring social justice,» the statement says.

Representatives of the establishments supported the measures of the municipal administration. The heads of the municipal territorial administrations were instructed to step up information and explanatory work among the population on the inadmissibility of wastefulness during ceremonial or memorial events.
