The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic will make a working visit to Islamabad (Islamic Republic of Pakistan) on October 15-16, 2024.
Akylbek Japarov will take part in the 23rd meeting of the Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states. A number of bilateral meetings are also planned.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government has taken additional measures to ensure the security of the SCO summit of Heads of Government. The Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Attaullah Tarar announced it to journalists, TASS reports.
«Islamabad is one of the safest cities in our country. As you know, we have a video surveillance and rapid response system called Safe City, and a large number of law enforcement officers are stationed here. In addition, in order to ensure security, we have deployed an additional contingent of military personnel here. The army will guard the «red zone» (the area of Islamabad, where the main government buildings, courts and legislative institutions are located),» he said.
He added that the authorities had taken «extraordinary» measures to ensure security for the SCO events.
