Customs officers illegally collect duties on goods that people with disabilities bring for personal use. Deputy Dastan Bekeshev said at a meeting of Parliament.
According to him, the Tax Code clearly states that hearing aids, Braille pens and other similar goods are exempt from duty, but customs officers charge 12 percent.
«The fact is that there was an error in the Cabinet resolution. I told them about it a year and a half ago, they promised to fix it, but they still haven’t done so,» Dastan Bekeshev explained.
