Cabinet plans to allocate $1 million to 5 universities to equip laboratories

As part of a working trip to Munich, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Chairman of the Board of Waldner Holding SE & Co. KG Jochen Früh.

The meeting took place at the University of Munich, where the company Waldner Holding has already successfully implemented a project on equipping the laboratory with modern equipment for a wide range of research.

The head of the Cabinet got acquainted with the laboratory and emphasized the importance of Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with the company in the field of education. «Germany is a reliable partner of the Kyrgyz Republic in the European Union. We have implemented many socially significant projects. Now we seek to deepen cooperation in the field of education, given the desire of Kyrgyz youth to get quality education and professional experience in Germany,» he said.

Akylbek Japarov noted the importance of equipping schools and universities with modern laboratory equipment that meets international standards and emphasized that Kyrgyzstan was the first country in the region to establish a partnership with Google Education in the field of education.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the project on equipping laboratory classrooms of the presidential school Akylman, which is already at the stage of design and production.

The head of the Cabinet also expressed hope for the successful implementation of a pilot project for five universities of the republic to re-equip chemistry and physics laboratories. «We plan to allocate $1 million to each university, we want to start the project with the Kyrgyz State Technical University,» he said.

For his part, Jochen Früh noted that he was glad to cooperate with the Kyrgyz Republic. «We see great potential in the development of education and we are ready to provide modern equipment and technologies that will help Kyrgyz students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career,» he said.
