Policemen with 20 years of service to be allowed to privatize service housing

The Parliamentary Committee on Law and Order, Combating Crime and Countering Corruption in the first reading approved a bill allowing law enforcement officers with 20 years of service or more to privatize their service apartments by direct sale.

The initiator of the document Kubanychbek Samakov noted that the current version of the law establishes the right to privatization of housing only after dismissal from service with the right to a pension based on age, length of service, health condition, staff reduction and having at least 20 years of service, as well as family members of the employee, who was killed or died in the service.

The bill enshrines the right of current law enforcement officers to be provided with their own housing during their service.

Deputy Interior Minister Erkebek Ashirkhodzhaev noted that to date 905 service apartments have been allocated to law enforcement officers, 387 of them — in Bishkek.
