Kyrgyzstan’s Olympians exempted from paying income tax on bonuses

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has decided to exempt members of Kyrgyzstan’s national Olympic sports teams from paying income tax. They will also not pay insurance payments on their bonuses.

As the initiators explained, the decision was made in order to implement the Decree of President Sadyr Japarov «On measures for the further development of football in the Kyrgyz Republic».

Supplies, including imports, and sales tax on goods determined by the Cabinet of Ministers and intended for the development of domestic sports are exempt from paying VAT.

«The Cabinet of Ministers has the right to exempt the construction and reconstruction of large-scale sports infrastructure facilities from paying taxes,» the statement says.

Earlier, members of the Kyrgyz Olympic team received cash prizes from 500,000 soms to 10 million soms and cars.
