President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held talks with the leader of Italy Sergio Mattarella as part of his official visit to Italy.
According to the press service of the head of state, during the talks the parties discussed current issues of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of strengthening political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries.
The President of Italy noted the importance of strengthening the system of international relations, focusing on the issues of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Italy within the UN, OSCE and other international structures.
Sadyr Japarov noted: this meeting is the first at the highest level between the Kyrgyz Republic and Italy in the last 25 years, and expressed confidence that it will mark the beginning of a new page in the history of Kyrgyzstan — Italy relations.
He emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the development of political dialogue and cooperation with Italy and the European Union as a whole.
The President noted that the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Union by Kyrgyzstan in Brussels in June this year contributes to further strengthening of cooperation with EU countries, including Italy, in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
During the conversation, he particularly emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic intends to continue to confidently develop as a democratic and legal state.
«Reforms have been carried out in almost all key areas of the country’s life since 2021. I strive to make Kyrgyzstan a state, where every citizen and foreigner, and especially a foreign investor, feels completely safe and can calmly conduct their business. As a result of the tax legislation reform, a liberal tax regime is in effect in the republic,» Sadyr Japarov added.
The parties also exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda.
At the end of the talks, the head of the Kyrgyz Republic invited Sergio Mattarella to visit the country.
