The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia will launch a register of illegal migrants from March 5, 2025. The ministry announced the appearance of a public register of illegal immigrants in the Russian Federation, TASS reported, citing the draft resolution.
The document will be available to all citizens. Anyone will be able to check the presence or absence of a foreigner in the database upon request on the ministry’s website. At the same time, the migrant’s personal data — last name, first name and patronymic, date of birth, gender, series and number of the identity document — will be hidden.
The register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be automatically updated no later than 24 hours after the foreign citizen is added to the database. The history of all processed requests will be stored for five years from the date of the request itself.
Earlier, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Gorovoy stated that illegal migrants would not be able to get married in Russia, use banking and public services.
