The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in the annual meeting in C5+1 format (Central Asia + USA) with the participation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Foreign Ministers of the countries of the region in New York.
The parties discussed common steps to strengthen regional cooperation in the field of security in order to implement the common concept of maintaining peace in Central Asia.
The participants emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements following the 2023 C5+1 presidential summit, implementation of the adopted New York Declaration, including the launch of a dialogue on critical minerals and support for Central Asia — U.S. business partnership.
Jeenbek Kulubaev noted the importance of strengthening border and cyber security, the fight against terrorism and extremism, and also informed about the successful implementation of the humanitarian mission Aikol, supported by the United States, to repatriate citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from conflict zones in Syria.
He proposed expanding trade and investment cooperation between Central Asia and the United States and working together to open new transport corridors that will connect the region to global and regional markets.
Kyrgyzstan proposes that the U.S. government encourage American companies to explore business opportunities related to renewable energy and digitalization.
The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan called on his colleagues to organize the next C5+1 ministerial meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
