Participants of the round-the-world trip in electric cars 80Edays drove through Kyrgyzstan. The Tourism Development Support Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The trip is held under the motto «Electrify the Great Silk Road».
«Wherever the light is on, you can charge your car,» the team leader Rafael de Mestre (Spain) said. For him, this is already the fourth round-the-world trip. 12 years ago, he became the first person to drive around the globe in a Tesla electric car.
The participants of the rally call for the development of electric transport and electric vehicle infrastructure. They are laying out routes for tourists from all over the world. Now, on the project map, Kyrgyzstan is marked as a country where it is convenient and safe to travel in an electric car.
In each country they visit, the participants plant a tree as a symbol of the desire for environmental friendliness and green development. Rafael de Mestre and his teammate Zdenek Martinek, together with the heads of the Tourism Development Support Fund Kudret Taychabarov and Ernis Zarlykov, planted a thuja near Agroprom building, next to the office of the Department of Tourism.
The tree will be included in the virtual world garden, and any passerby can learn more about the 80Edays initiative via a QR code.
