Import of hunting rifles from South Africa with violations prevented

Hunting rifles from South Africa were attempted to be imported into Kyrgyzstan, the Customs Service reported.

According to the Customs Service, Manas customs officers, together with employees of the State Committee for National Security, detected violations of customs legislation: goods — hunting rifles — with a total weight of 378 kilograms arrived from South Africa to A.K. LLC.

It was found out during the inspection that the value of the goods was $81,720 in the customs invoice, and according to the invoice dated June 27, 2024 — $59,370.

A fact of evasion of customs duties by the LLC was revealed. According to the invoice, in addition to previously paid customs duties, the amount of customs duties and taxes payable to the state budget amounted to 526,456 soms.

The collected materials were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic.
