Sarah Werth has assumed her duties as the new Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Kyrgyzstan in September. Press release from the agency says.
Werth has more than twenty years of experience in international development and diplomacy. Previously, she served as Deputy Mission Director of USAID in Nigeria and held senior positions in Tunisia, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, and Bangladesh.
«I am honored to join USAID’s team in the Kyrgyz Republic and look forward to building on our partnerships with the people and government of the Kyrgyz Republic to strengthen economic opportunities, enhance governance, and improve health outcomes,» Sarah Werth said.
The new USAID Mission Director in Kyrgyzstan holds an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and an MS in National Security Strategy from the National War College at the National Defense University in Washington, DC.
Over the past 20 years, USAID has provided more than $800 million to support the development of Kyrgyzstan.
