International institutions assess economic prospects of Kyrgyzstan

International financial organizations have presented their forecasts for the economic development of Kyrgyzstan. The head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy Almaz Abdekirov reported.

According to the forecast of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), economic growth is expected to be 4.4 percent in 2024 and 4.2 percent in 2025. Almaz Abdekirov said that the World Bank has improved its forecasts, raising growth expectations from 4 percent to 4.5 percent in 2024 and leaving the forecast for 2025 at 4.2 percent.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) also assesses the situation positively, predicting growth of 4.5 percent in 2024 and 3.5 percent in 2025. In turn, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) voices more optimistic figures, predicting growth of up to 7 percent in 2024.
