Shooting at Wildberries office in Moscow: Two people killed, seven injured

A shooting occurred at Wildberries office in Romanov Dvor business center in Moscow. Two security guards were killed, seven people were injured. The owner of the corporation, Tatyana Bakalchuk, accused her husband Vladislav of an attempt of a hostile takeover. In response, he told that he came with his team to negotiate, but fire was opened on them.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case after the shooting at the Wildberries office.

«A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the shooting incident in Moscow. According to preliminary data, on September 18, a shooting occurred at the office of Wildberries online store, located on Romanov Lane in Moscow. As a result, seven people were injured, including two law enforcement officers, who arrived at the call to stop illegal actions. Two people died from injuries.

All the victims were taken to medical institutions, where they are receiving the necessary assistance.

The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 105 (murder), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 (attempted murder of two or more people), Articles 222 (illegal possession of firearms), 317 (infringement on life of a law enforcement officer) and 330 (arbitrariness) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Investigators and forensic experts are currently working at the scene. A range of investigative actions are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident. Witnesses are being questioned, CCTV footage is being studied,» the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

The Bakalchuk spouses, who are currently in the process of divorce, have different versions of the incident. Vladislav claims that he came for negotiations. Tatyana denies this, stating that no negotiations were planned.

Wildberries called it «an attempt at illegal entry.» The husband of the company’s founder, along with security, tried to get into the office in Romanov Dvor business center. Vladislav Bakalchuk is a co-founder of Wildberries, he owns 1 percent of the company, his wife Tatyana owns 99 percent. In July, Wildberries and the outdoor advertising operator Russ announced merger plans, and soon Vladislav met with Ramzan Kadyrov, who announced a «raider takeover» of the marketplace. Tatyana Bakalchuk said that her husband was «misleading people», and she later filed for divorce.
