Former head of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and former chairman of the State Drug Control Service Rafik Mambetaliev has been detained by employees of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan. Sources in security services reported.
According to them, Rafik Mambetaliev is suspected of attempt to seize power. The case is being investigated by the Main Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security.
On September 13, 2024, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek considered the petition of the investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security to take Rafik Mambetaliev into custody. The court denied the petition and chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest until October 21.
The investigation continues.
