Woman suspected of large-scale fraud in Bishkek

Law enforcement officers detained a 55-year-old woman suspected of fraud in Bishkek, the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of Oktyabrsky district reported.

The police said that a Bishkek resident contacted them on August 25, asking to take action against a woman he barely knew. According to him, back in April 2024, the woman, promising to sell an apartment, took two cars from him: a Range Rover Velar worth $70,000 and a Lexus ES350, which costs $35,000, and $16,500 in cash. It later turned out that the apartment was not paid for, and the construction company did not recognize him as the owner. Thus, the total damage to the applicant amounted to 12,415,500 soms.

Law enforcement officers opened a case under the article «Fraud» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The 55-year-old woman was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital. Her involvement in other crimes is being established. The investigation is ongoing.
