The Department of Agricultural Crops and Horticulture Expertise recommends growing late-flowering almond varieties Ferragnes and Ferradwell. The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan reports.

According to the ministry, spring frosts are not a problem for the plant, since it is late-flowering, and its yield is regular. The plant is unpretentious, regular watering is needed in the first 2-3 years to maintain growth, and then it needs to be watered 2-3 times per season.

«The almond root system is very powerful and deep, it binds the soil. It can be planted to strengthen slopes. The plant quickly bears fruit. The yield from 1 hectare is 2 tons,» the statement says.
