Five maternity hospitals received equipment to improve the quality of services for pregnant women, mothers and newborns. The press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to it, the transferred equipment was purchased as part of a project funded by the India-UN Development Partnership Fund. It is aimed at improving access to quality medical services through the use of the obstetric surveillance and response system and teleconsultations in five pilot maternity hospitals in Kyrgyzstan.
The equipment includes 40 tablets for monitoring the birth process, providing assistance to the pregnant woman and fetus during labor and delivery in real time, 21 computers for the introduction of telemedicine and teleconsultations in real time in case of emergency obstetric conditions.
Additionally, in order to automate the process of issuing a child’s birth certificate and integrating the service on the State Portal of Electronic Services, computers will be installed in the pilot maternity hospitals as an important step in improving the quality of public services and simplifying procedures for citizens. This will allow parents to apply for birth certificates for their children online while still in maternity hospitals, which will significantly speed up the process of obtaining the document and reduce the need to visit government agencies.
In addition to the technical equipment, 100 power banks, 100 blankets for low-birth-weight and premature babies to maintain and preserve the thermal chain, 100 elbow dispensers to organize work taking into account infection control, 100 pairs of closed shoes for surgical medical personnel for use in operating rooms and sterile areas were delivered to five maternity hospitals of the secondary and tertiary levels, namely the Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital, the Jalal-Abad Combined Clinical Hospital, the Issyk-Kul and Chui Regional Combined Hospitals and the perinatal center of the National Center for Maternity and Child Welfare.
«This comprehensive initiative can make a significant contribution to improving maternal health in the Kyrgyz Republic. By using technology and promoting collaboration, it demonstrates the commitment of all partners to ensuring the safety and well-being of women and newborns across the country,» the Ministry of Health noted.
