Ken-Sai - Avtodorozhny checkpoint resumes work

Ken-Sai — Avtodorozhny checkpoint, located in Kyzyl-Tuu village, Nooken district of Jalal-Abad region on Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan section of the state border resumed its work. The Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Ken-Sai — Avtodorozhny checkpoint has the status of a multilateral (international) checkpoint with a 24-hour operating mode. Citizens and vehicles can cross the state border through it, and the movement of goods, goods and animals is also permitted.

The checkpoint was closed in 2009.

«However, due to the high level of strategic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, in order to strengthen economic, trade, cultural ties and develop border areas, the governments of the two countries decided to resume the work of Ken-Sai — Avtodorozhny (KR) — Uch-Kurgon (RUZ) checkpoint,» the statement says.

The technical throughput capacity of the checkpoint is over 11,000 people and 300 vehicles per day.

It will become the second largest checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the border, through which goods and cargo will move. Ken-Sai — Avtodorozhny was practically built from scratch in accordance with international standards. It is equipped with the necessary technical means.

The checkpoint is connected to the monitoring center of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security, which monitors the activities of military personnel and the situation at the checkpoint online. As of September 12, the following checkpoints are operating on Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan section of the state border:

  • Checkpoints Madaniyat — Avtodorozhny, Baimak — Avtodorozhny, Bek-Abad — Avtodorozhny, Ken-Sai — Avtodorozhny (Jalal-Abad region);
  • Dostuk- Avtodorozhny, Kara-Suu — Avtodorozhny, Kara-Bagysh — Avtodorozhny (Osh region);
  • Kyzyl-Kiya — Avtodorozhny, Kadamdzhai — Avtodorozhny, Kaitpas — Avtodorozhny, Ak-Kiya — Avtodorozhny, Otukchu — Avtodorozhny, Chechme — Avtodorozhny (Batken region).
