The dean of the Finance and Economics Faculty of the Osh Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov has been detained for extortion of money from students. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS) reported.
Thus, a corruption scheme has been suppressed at the university.
«On September 9, the dean of the faculty was detained on suspicion of systematic extortion of money from students during state exams. He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS. Earlier, as part of a criminal case initiated under the article «Extortion» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the dean and deputy dean of the Humanitarian and Pedagogical Faculty of the same university were detained,» the press release says.
The SCNS warns of the inadmissibility of the presence of corruption in higher educational institutions of the country and calls on citizens to report all facts in this area.
