President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with Uzbek boxing coach Akmal Khasanov on September 11 and presented him with a car as a token of gratitude for his contribution to Munarbek Seyitbek uulu’s victory. The press service of the President reported.
The head of state, in a conversation with Akmal Khasanov, emphasized that his act glorified the friendship and unity of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
«The whole world saw that the peoples of Central Asia support each other, demonstrating cohesion and friendly relations. Sports are called the ambassador of peace. By your example, you contribute to strengthening mutual agreement. I wish that our unity only strengthens,» Sadyr Japarov said.
Sadyr Japarov especially noted that Akmal Khasanov made a heroic act when Kyrgyzstan’s Olympic silver medalist Munarbek Seyitbek uulu especially needed support.
Recall, the boxer from Kyrgyzstan Munarbek Seyitbek uulu won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. In the weight category up to 57 kilograms, in the final, he competed with Abdumalik Khalokov from Uzbekistan. The judges gave the victory to the opponent of the Kyrgyzstani. At the tournament, he won three victories over athletes from Cuba, the USA and Bulgaria.
