A Kyrgyzstani was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison in Khakassia for a murder he committed 28 years ago. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.
By the court’s verdict, the defendant, the citizen of Kyrgyzstan, was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison with serving the sentence in a maximum security prison colony. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
As it was reported earlier, the Kyrgyzstani was detained in Moscow for a murder committed 28 years ago. The resident of the Kyrgyz Republic, who organized a business in Khakassia in the mid-90s, was accused of murdering a woman in Abakan in the spring of 1996.
The body of the 30-year-old woman with head injuries was found in one of the private houses in Abakan in March 1996. A criminal case was then opened on the fact of the murder, but the perpetrator was not found, and the investigation was suspended.
The 53-year-old Kyrgyzstani was detained in February 2024 in Moscow. He was charged with committing a crime under Article 102 «Intentional murder under aggravating circumstances ». The court, at the request of the investigation, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
After his detention, the Kyrgyzstani admitted his guilt and told about the circumstances of the murder.
