Trade between Kyrgyzstan and XUAR amounts to $8.3 billion

The volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China (XUAR) amounted to $8.3 billion. Deputy Director of the Xinjiang Department of Commerce Zhang Yuming announced such data for the period from January to July 2024 at the VIII International Economic Forum Issyk-Kul — 2024.

According to him, the volume of trade in 2023 amounted to $15.5 billion, which is 19.8 percent more than in 2022.

Zhang Yuming noted that the temporarily opened for customs Bedel checkpoint has become the third land transport corridor connecting China and Kyrgyzstan, and this helps promote the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway.
