Export of goods from Afghanistan to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $6 million from January to August 2024. A spokesman for the Afghan Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce Abdul-Salam Jawad told to TOLOnews agency.
According to him, the import of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan for the period reached $8 million.
Afghan exports to Central Asian countries totaled $58 million in the first six months.
Recall, the Taliban movement was on the list of banned in Kyrgyzstan. Earlier, the Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan published a message, in which it stated its appreciation and welcome of the Kyrgyz Republic’s decision «to exclude the name Taliban, previously associated with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, from the list of banned groups». The authorities of the republic reported about this a day later.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed that after careful consideration and comprehensive assessment by the competent state bodies, the decision was made to exclude the Taliban movement from the list of banned organizations in the country.
«This decision is aimed at strengthening regional stability and maintaining dialogue. The Kyrgyz Republic remains committed to supporting the efforts of the international community aimed at ensuring a stable and peaceful situation in Afghanistan and the region as a whole,» the statement says.
