SCNS interrogates world boxing champion Orzubek Nazarov

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) interrogated world boxing champion Orzubek Nazarov. The SCNS press center reported that the athlete had been linked to the so-called crime boss of Uzbekistan, Salim Boyvocha (Salimbay Abduvaliev).

On September 3, as part of the criminal case initiated under the article «Financing of organized groups and criminal communities» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the security services interrogated Orzubek Nazarov. The latter explained that in 2023, at the World Boxing Championship, Salimbay Abduvaliev invited him and other athletes to dinner. They ate together and left. Orzubek Nazarov added that he had never maintained contact with the criminal world and never would.

As part of this criminal case, investigative and operational measures are ongoing to identify other citizens involved in the criminal activities of Salim Boyvocha.
