Kyrgyzstan celebrates the 33rd anniversary of its independence today.
On August 31, 1991, the Supreme Council of the republic adopted the Declaration of State Independence, completing the process of secession from the USSR.
Kyrgyzstan has experienced a lot for three decades. There were ups and downs, overthrow of presidents, and great sacrifices during interethnic clashes, and bloody border conflicts.
The country continues to seek its own way of development. Not everything is working out so far, but we are moving forward.
Independence Day is the main state holiday of Kyrgyzstan, a holiday of national unity and harmony. Therefore, despite everything, we should remember that the republic has been living independently for 33 years.
We would like to wish Kyrgyzstan prosperity, and peace, happiness, well-being and fortitude to all of us, its citizens!
