Schools in Kyrgyzstan are 68.5 percent provided with textbooks. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Muratbek Kasymaliev announced at a press conference.
According to him, schools with Kyrgyz and Russian languages of instruction should have at least 129 types of textbooks, while schools with Uzbek and Tajik languages — at least 147.
According to the National Statistical Committee, the number of schoolchildren increased by 435,000 from 2012 to 2022. Thus, to fully provide schools with textbooks according to the current state educational standard, subject standards and curricula, 17,236.5 million copies are needed.

To date, the library fund of public schools has 11,816.3 million textbooks (or 68.5 percent of the total need).
At least 152 million soms are allocated annually to provide schools with educational literature.
School textbooks can also be found on the educational platforms of the Ministry of Education on the Internet.

There are 2,377 schools in Kyrgyzstan, and 2,173 of them are state and municipal and 204 are private.
