World Youth Wrestling Championships: Kursantbek Isakov wins gold

Kyrgyzstani Kursantbek Isakov won a gold medal in the final of the World Youth Wrestling Championships in Jordan.

The tournament among athletes under 17 took place in Amman. The athlete from Kyrgyzstan competed at the freestyle wrestling tournament in the 55 kg weight category.

He started the fights from the 1/8 finals and defeated a wrestler from Japan with a score 3:1.

In the quarterfinals, Kursantbek Isakov defeated the Kazakh wrestler with a score 7:1, and in the semifinals, he was stronger than the representative of the USA (10:2).

In the final fight for gold, the representative of the Kyrgyz Republic competed with an opponent from Puerto Rico. Kursantbek Isakov won with a score 4:2, becoming the strongest at the World Championships.
