Mayor of the capital Aibek Dzhunushaliev visited the territory of Bishkek Sanitary Landfill, where it is planned to build an eco-technological plant for the disposal of solid household waste.

The mayor recalled that the plant is being built by an investor from the city of Changsha. Investments in the amount of $95 million are expected.

«We are not attracting local funds. The plant will dispose waste and generate electricity. We have put forward not only requirements, but also a request to investors to speed up construction. If, according to the project, earlier they were supposed to build it for 1.5-2 years, now the plans are to complete it within a year,» the mayor noted.

To date, a geological survey has been completed, the results of which are being studied by Chinese investors to prepare a technical project for the construction of the plant.

In order to prepare documents for the environmental impact assessment, Junxin Huanbao KG Invest LLC signed an agreement with Eco Tazalyk. On July 15, 2024, the LLC sent a preliminary section of the environmental impact assessment to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision for state environmental review.

Junxin Huanbao KG Invest LLC also signed an agreement with Giper Stroy LLC, with which they began designing the land plot and leveling the site of the future waste disposal plant.

Preparation of the construction site of the plant is at the final stage, the topsoil has been cut, 29,000 cubic meters of soil have been removed, and an access road is being built. The removed soil has been used to cover the garbage.

«The Chinese side is installing containers to organize living spaces and an office for the project team. Chinese workers are also expected to arrive, who will be engaged in the first stage of construction of the waste disposal plant,» the municipality reported.

In November 2023, the city mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev and the General Director of Junxin Dai Daoguo signed a framework agreement on cooperation on a waste-to-energy production facility.
