Construction of two fish processing plants have begun in Alamedin and Sokuluk districts of Chui region. The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to it, one plant is being built in Leninskoye village in Alamedin district by Salikh LTD. It is planned that the enterprise will produce up to 3,000 tons of processed fish and up to 8,000 kilograms of black sturgeon caviar. The total cost of the project is $4,387,460.
The company also launched a new fish feed production facility with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year and opened a selection and production fish farm with an annual output of 250 tons of commercial fish. The company opened a trout farm with a capacity of 800 tons of fish per year in Konstantinovka village.
Vilbi company is building a fish and fish products processing plant in Ak-Zhol village, Sokuluk district. The cost of the project is 134,250 million soms.
The plant will produce 1,000 tons of chilled trout, 1,000 tons of frozen trout, 800 tons of smoked fish products, 400 tons of dried products, 1,000 tons of lightly salted products, 1 million pieces of canned products per year.
According to the ministry, the country produces 30,000 tons of fish per year, but exports only 5,000 tons.
