Russian enterprises have sharply increased salaries of migrants. If at the beginning of 2024 the wages of migrants in production were about 105,000 rubles, then by the summer they had increased to almost 150,000 rubles. Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported, citing the Migrant Service.
The salaries of migrants holding the position of «production workers» increased by 40 percent.
According to independent expert in the field of migration Vadim Kozhenov, enterprises are in dire need of welders, concrete workers, reinforced concrete builders and ironworkers. If a migrant is experienced, then he immediately goes to show his skills. And if not, then he can be trained in jobs for which high qualifications are not necessary. At the same time, as Vadim Kozhenov noted, it is specifically about legal employment. The number of white schemes is increasing.
«Of course, employers would be more happy to hire Russian workers, as it is easier in terms of paperwork with them. But there is no choice,» he said.
Earlier, the State Duma proposed raising the personal income tax for migrants working under a license to 30 percent. Deputies believe that two-thirds of migrants working in Russia work under a license and send all the money they earn back home. Meanwhile, according to legislators, the income of foreigners should work for the Russian budget.
Meanwhile, Russian companies, due to a record shortage of personnel, have begun looking for employees on the African continent, for example, in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Algeria.
