The second stage of the Sambo World Cup has started in Cholpon-Ata city. The competitions will be held in four disciplines — men’s sport sambo; men’s combat sambo; women’s sport sambo; women’s combat sambo.
Each participating country has the right to send two athletes to the World Cup in each weight category of each discipline.
Competitions among men in sport sambo in the weight categories of 58, 64, 71, 79, 88, 98 and 98+ kilograms, and in combat sambo, as well as among women in the weight categories of 59, 65 and 72 kilograms will take place today, August 15.
More than 250 athletes from 14 countries are taking part in the competitions. Sambo wrestlers from Russia participate in all tournaments, with the exception of national ones, under the name FIAS-1 with the flag and anthem of the International Sambo Federation.
