Turkmenistan has sent a list of 50 people through diplomatic channels to a number of countries with a request not to allow them into their territory or to deport them. Chronicles of Turkmenistan Telegram channel reports.

The request was sent to Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Iran, and possibly Moldova, Georgia, and Armenia.

«In the authorities’ opinion, the civil activists, journalists, representatives of independent media, and the opposition on the list pose a threat to the security of the state. Turkmenistan is asking to return nine people from this list to their homeland.

The request does not mean that foreign countries will implement it.

However, the case of Ruslan Myatiev, editor of the independent media outlet Turkmen news, who was deported from Turkey on July 25, suggests that this country took the request of the Turkmen side seriously,» the statement says.
