The first bell in schools in Kyrgyzstan will ring on September 2. The Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva announced at a press conference.
Earlier, the ministry said that more than 113,000 children have been admitted to the first grade so far. There are still free places in some educational institutions in the capital, the electronic enrollment will last until August 30.
September 2 was supposed to be a day off due to a public holiday on August 31 (Independence Day, Saturday — Note of 24.kg news agency). If a holiday falls on a weekend, the next working day is considered to be a day off. But since Kyrgyzstanis have already had a day off on January 5, September 2 will be a working day.
