Kazakhstan began to supply oil to Europe via Druzhba (Friendship) system. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan confirmed the information.

According to the ministry, Eni (Italian investor of Kashagan) began supplying oil to Europe via Druzhba system. It is specified that AGIP Caspian Sea (subsidiary organization of Eni in Kazakhstan) in early summer sent a test batch of oil via the northern branch of Druzhba pipeline. Russian oil has not been delivered to Europe via this branch since 2023 because of the sanctions imposed by the European Union.

«In June of this year, AGIP made a test delivery of 20,000 tons of oil via Atyrau-Samara main oil pipeline and further into Druzhba system. Further transportation of oil will depend on the economic attractiveness of supplies in this direction,» the Ministry of Energy reported.

Oil from Kashagan field is supplied via the northern branch of Druzhba pipeline. Raw materials from Karachaganak are also sent to Europe via the main oil pipelines of the Russian Transneft PJSC.

In the first quarter of 2024, at least 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil were transported to Adamova Zastava oil delivery point.
