The 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyzstan-Korea Commission on Economic Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, chaired by Daniyar Amangeldiev. The delegation from Korea, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Affairs Kim Heesang, attended the meeting.
Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that the Republic of Korea was one of the key partners of Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the importance of friendly and trusting relations between the two countries, as well as successful cooperation in the fields of energy, digitalization, agriculture and forestry, healthcare, land resources, public administration, culture and other important sectors of the economy.
«Today we are on the path to renewal and transformation of the economies of our countries, which, among other things, create favorable conditions for joint work on the priorities of economic and investment cooperation, infrastructure development, integration, introduction of innovations and digital technologies, as well as finding new growth points for our cooperation,» he emphasized.
The issues discussed included the possibility of increasing bilateral trade, implementation of joint projects for the construction of logistics warehouse distribution centers, organizing scientific, technological, educational, technological centers and technology parks, as well as financial and industrial clusters in Kyrgyzstan. The minister expressed interest in further development of cooperation, especially in the field of digitalization and innovation, based on the best practices of the Republic of Korea.
Further development of relations, including through the implementation of investment, infrastructure and social projects, assistance in establishing and developing business contacts, cooperation in the areas of energy, industry, geological exploration, innovation, tourism, and agriculture are of great interest.
The prospects for cooperation between the parties in the field of digitalization, aviation, culture, sports, healthcare and education were identified.
The parties agreed to continue active cooperation within the framework of the intergovernmental commission, and preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to the Republic of Korea were emphasized.
