The court sentenced Kamchi Kolbaev’s mother Maya Aliyeva to seven years in prison and confiscated her property, including the house she lives in. Lawyer Baktybek Zhumashev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the 76-year-old defendant was found guilty under the article «Money Laundering» and sentenced to seven years in prison.
«In accordance with Article 63 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic as amended on October 1, 1997, the sentence imposed is considered suspended with a probationary period of one year and the sentence should not be executed, if during this probationary period the convicted person does not commit a new crime and fulfills the obligations imposed on her by the court,» the verdict says.
«We do not agree with the verdict and will file an appeal. This is Aliyeva’s only home in Bishkek, and she received medical care there. Aliyeva’s children participated in the hearing, and they were outraged by the decision. They asked where their mother should live,» Baktybek Zhumashev said.
Earlier, the sisters of the killed crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev asked not to confiscate their mother’s house. The brother of the deceased, Zholdoshbek Kolbaev, asked for a meeting with the head of state Sadyr Japarov.
Kamchi Kolbaev was liquidated on October 4, 2023, in Bishkek during a special operation. The press center of the State Committee for National Security reported that the leader of the organized crime group put up armed resistance during detention. After the death of Kamchi Kolbaev, 720 apartments belonging to him and his relatives became state property. Part of the property was put up for auction.
