Batch of chewing gum of dubious origin found in Bishkek market

At least 90,000 packs of counterfeit Orbit chewing gum were seized at one of the capital’s markets. The Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Tax officers during a raid on one of the Bishkek markets detected and seized a large amount of chewing gum of dubious origin. Appropriate expertise is being conducted to verify the authenticity of the seized products. If the counterfeit is confirmed, the materials will be sent to the judicial authorities for confiscation and further destruction.

The Tax Service added that the raids were carried out as part of the suppression of violations of the rights of the owner of Orbit chewing gum trademark. The state service will continue to actively work on detection of unaccounted and counterfeit goods on the territory of the republic.
