Wrestler from Kyrgyzstan Meerim Zhumanazarova reached the final of the Olympic Games in Paris.
She competed in freestyle wrestling in the 68 kg weight category.
In the semifinals, Meerim Zhumanazarova met with 35-year-old 13-time champion of Africa Blessing Oborududu from Nigeria. The fight ended with Zhumanazarova’s victory with a score 3:1.
Meerim Zhumanazarova started from the 1/8 final stage, where she defeated a wrestler from Mongolia, and then in the quarterfinals she snatched victory from the main favorite of her weight category — Nonoka Ozaki from Japan.
The athlete will fight for the gold medal of the Olympic Games against Amit Elor from the USA today, August 6.
