Kyrgyzstan generates 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity for six months

Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev announced the results of activities for January-June of 2024.

According to him, 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated during this period. Of these, 6.2 billion kilowatts were generated by hydroelectric power plants, and the rest was generated by heating and power plants.

The volume of electricity imports amounted to 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours. In particular, Russia supplied 909.8 million kilowatts through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan through the networks of Uzbekistan — 837.5 million, and 275.3 million kilowatt-hours were received from Uzbekistan.

Taalaibek Ibraev added that the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir as of August 1 was 11.8 billion cubic meters. Compared to last year, it has increased by 930 million cubic meters.
