Kyrgyzstan plans to mine 4.6 million tons of coal in 2024

Kyrgyzstan plans to mine 4,632.35 million tons of coal in 2024. The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision reported.

According to its data, as of July 1, according to the register, the number of valid coal licenses is 392.

Coal is planned to be mined this year in:

  • Batken region — 1.7 million tons;
  • Osh region — 967,300 tons;
  • Jalal-Abad region — 331,600 tons;
  • Naryn region — 1.6 million tons.

At least 437,860 tons of coal were mined at Kara-Keche deposit for the first six months of 2024.

The total volume of coal production throughout Kyrgyzstan, taking into account the volume of production of small companies for the first half of the year, is more than 1 million tons of coal.
