According to the water and energy calculations of Electric Stations, the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir as of the beginning of the heating season (October 1, 2024), taking into account the import of electricity, will be 12.5 billion cubic meters.
The Electric Stations reported that, according to the latest forecast of Kyrgyzhydromet dated June 29, the expected water inflow into Toktogul reservoir in the third quarter of 2024 will be 98 percent of the average annual norm.
The company clarified that Kyrgyzhydromet provides data on the water inflow forecast only for a month ahead, and added that there are no reliable long-term forecasts.
According to the company’s water and energy calculations, the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir by the end of the 2024/25 heating season will be approximately 7.9 billion cubic meters.
