The Kyrgyzstani was placed in the custodial facility in Bagong Diwa camp, Taguig city where she will remain while awaiting deportation.

The Bureau of Immigration’s fugitive search unit reportedly detained Anara Ruslanova, 29, in a residential village in Makati city on July 23 for alleged links to a West African drug syndicate, whose members were arrested on June 20, 2022.

The Kyrgyzstani was previously facing deportation proceedings for overstaying illegally in the country.

In November 2023, the Bureau of Immigration’s Board of Commissioners ordered her deportation and inclusion in the immigration blacklist, which banned her from re-entering the Philippines.

According to the report, the citizen of Kyrgyzstan last arrived in the country on October 4, 2018, and has not departed since then. She had not applied for any type of visa to prolong her stay in the country legally.
