Kyrgyzstan expresses concerns about denied entry into Russia, checks of citizens

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Imangaziev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergei Vakunov. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The parties discussed issues related to the entry of citizens of Kyrgyzstan into Russia and their stay on its territory.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan expressed concern about the increasing number of cases of denied entry into Russia for compatriots and lengthy checks at international airports in the Russian Federation. At the same time, he noted that the Kyrgyz side understands the measures taken by the Russian side aimed at ensuring security in the country.

Sergei Vakunov expressed readiness for joint work on all topics on the bilateral agenda.

Following the meeting, they agreed to continue working on migration issues, including within the framework of interstate interdepartmental cooperation between the competent law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
