President Sadyr Japarov wished Kyrgyz athletes success at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. He posted the message on social media.
The head of state noted that the Summer Olympics are associated with weightlifter Kanybek Osmonaliev, runners Satymkul Dzhumanazarov and Maria Kulchunova. Competing under the flag of the USSR, they glorified Kyrgyzstan.
«Thanks to these athletes, the era of victories began, and they became an example for many generations. It is known that on the path to independence the country faced many problems and could not pay due attention to the sports sector. However, the gold medal of our compatriot Talant Duishobaev at the Olympics in Spain is evidence that God blesses the Kyrgyz. This confirms that the achievements of the above-mentioned athletes continue today,» Sadyr Japarov posted.
He recalled that the Kyrgyz wrestlers Kanat Begaliyev and Ruslan Tumonbayev won silver and bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Thus, the star of Kyrgyz sports has once again shone. However, success does not always accompany the Kyrgyz athletes.
«Nevertheless, the number of our athletes under the proudly flying flag of Kyrgyzstan continues to grow. Kyrgyz sports are reviving. We must preserve this achievement and support its development. May the Almighty bless our 16 athletes who set off with our red flag sparkling with the sun’s rays. May the hopes of our seven-million people come true,» the president posted.
He wished that the victories of the athletes become a symbol of fortitude and pride for the entire nation.
